Well Dr. Rajeev Gupta here is the book I think which you would like to have. Hope that you will enjoy reading it.
Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia, in literal sense, means a book containing list of drugs, their formulas, tests for their strength and purity, and other related information. Ayurveda, in spite of being a very ancient medicine system, has its own pharmacopea which can rightly be termed as ayurvedic & herbal pharmacopoeia- herbal because it is an alternative medicines system. The original scriptures of Ayurveda written in ancient India, contains padartha vidyan or the knowledge of raw materials- so basic to medicinal preparations. Apart from this, the ayurvedic pharmacopoeia also gives elaborate knowledge about bhaishajya kalpana. Bhaishajya means medicine and kalpana means forms. Thus, the ayurveda pharmacopea not only tells about materials but also about all the forms- syrups, juice, tablet, powder etc. As ayurvedic pharmacopoeia covers all the branches of ayurved, it can rightly be called ayurvedic encyclopedia.

The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India
The Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India is a legal document of standards for the quality of Ayurvedic drugs and substances included therein (under the Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940.). Each monograph describes macroscopic, microscopic characters along with their chemical standards identity, permissible limit of foreign matter purity & strength and have been developed on the protocol developed and approved by the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia committee. It also prescribes about total ash value, acid insoluble ash, alcohol soluble extractive, water soluble extractive and thin layer chromatographic description (TLC). All this work was carried out by different scientific laboratories of CSIR, CCRAS, universities, academic institutions, Drug Testing Laboratory and Pharmacopoeial Laboratory of Indian Medicine (PLIM). The data has been finalised after confirmation of various samples obtained from different agro-climatic zones by the cross-section of experienced scientists in Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia committee and after careful scientific scrutiny. The standards have been consciously kept modest so that its  implementation by the manufacturing companies becomes easily acceptable in order to maintain quality control and batch to batch uniformity. However, efforts of the manufactures should be to maintain higher standards of quality.
